Wartburg and Simpson Lead A-R-C in WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll

Five Teams Earn Special Mention Honors

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) recently announced its Academic Team Honor Roll for the 2024-25 academic year. Wartburg and Simpson represented the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) in the Top 25. The A-R-C saw five teams earn Special Mention honors. 
 
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II, and III, NAIA, and two-year GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2024-25 season is the 30th season in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls. 
 
The Knights of Wartburg College ranked sixth among all NCAA Division III schools while maintaining a 3.810 team grade point average for the 2024-25 academic year. The Storm of Simpson College finished in tenth with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.777. 
 
Buena Vista, Central, Coe, Luther, and Nebraska Wesleyan each were honored on the Special Mention list for their success in the classroom.

The Conference dates back to December 8, 1922, when representatives from 12 colleges got together and formed the "Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Association." Honoring its heritage in Iowa and its expansion outside the state, the American Rivers Conference brand was established on August 9, 2018, to build on the academic and athletic success provided by its legacy, the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The A-R-C has nine full-time members: Buena Vista University, Central College, Coe College, University of Dubuque, Loras College, Luther College, Nebraska Wesleyan University, Simpson College, and Wartburg College.
