Claire Wagner and Buena Vista University men’s basketball student-athlete
Jayden Brink have been named American Rivers Conference Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 30, 2025. The A-R-C weekly awards are nominated and voted on by the league’s sports information departments. The conference office then selects the female and male athletes of the week based upon sport performers of the week.
Female Athlete of the Week - Women’s Basketball - Performer of the Week - Claire Wagner (Westchester, Ill./IC Catholic Prep), Loras College
- Wagner scored a team-high 17 points in the win over No. 18 Wisconsin Lutheran.
- She was 8-of-15 from the floor in 25 minutes of action.
- Additionally, she grabbed three steals and four rebounds.
Male Athlete of the Week - Men’s Basketball - Performer of the Week - Jayden Brink (Spring Valley, Minn./Kingsland), Buena Vista University
- Brink averaged 26.0 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game during the Snyder Classic hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan.
- He set a career-high 23 points during the win on Friday over Crown and followed it up with a new career-high of 29 points a day later against UDallas.
- He finished the week going 16-of-32 from the floor and 10-of-20 from deep.
Weekly Report
Happy December! The fall season came to a close over the weekend for the A-R-C.
Coe College and Wartburg College both fell in the second round of the NCAA Division III Football Playoffs on Saturday in blizzard conditions. Coe fell to Bethel and Wartburg fell to Wheaton.
Conference basketball action officially kicks off on Wednesday, December 3 in the double round-robin format.
Championship Central: The A-R-C takes a break from conference championship action until January now. The next championship will be women’s wrestling on January 24 in Pella, Iowa. The full 2025-26 championship calendar can be found here:
