LINCOLN, Neb. – The Cheer and Dance teams from the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) took to the floor of Snyder Arena on the campus of Nebraska Wesleyan University for the fifth annual A-R-C Competitive Cheer & Dance Invitational. The champions in the Dance Divisions were Central – Pom and Jazz, and Nebraska Wesleyan – Hip-Hop. The Cheer division saw three different teams take home trophies: Wartburg – Cheer & Stunt Female, Buena Vista – Group Stunt, and Central – Game Day. Coe College earned the Performance of Merit in the Stunt Co-Ed Cheer division.
 
The closest finishes were in the Dance Hip Hop and Dance Pom divisions. The Prairie Wolves of Nebraska Wesleyan took the top spot of the Dance Hip Hop division with 250.5 points, only six points ahead of Simpson College (244.5 points). In the Dance Pom division, Central Dutch took the top spot with 258 points, only 6.5 points ahead of the Simpson Storm (251.5). The Dance Jazz division also saw a close finish with Central’s routine collecting 268.5 points, only 7.5 points ahead of Nebraska Wesleyan (261).
 
On the cheer side, Buena Vista, Central, and Wartburg each took home a trophy. Buena Vista won the Group Stunt division with 112.2 points with a 24.6-point victory over Wartburg. The Dutch (240.3 points) prevailed over Loras College in the Game Day division with 71.25 points separating the teams. Wartburg College took home the trophy in the Cheer & Stunt Female division with 79.5 points, only 9.7 points ahead of the Dubuque Spartans (69.8).
