Round One Suspended at 2012 IIAC Men's Golf Championships

Coe's Nicholson Aces No. 6 Hole

PELLA, Iowa --- The combination of lightning, a downpour and darkness has led to the suspension of the first round of the 2012 Iowa Conference Men’s Golf Championships at Bos Landen Golf Club. Two groups (six golfers) were unable to complete their first round.

Those two groups will attempt to complete their first round at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning with the second round to follow at approximately 9 a.m., weather permitting.

Of note, Buena Vista’s Mitch Brunick and Central’s Matt Vegter are the clubhouse leaders at 9-over 80. They lead Wartburg’s Lance Johnson by 1 stroke.

Also, Coe College sophomore Derek Nicholson aced the par-3, 177-yard No. 6 hole en route to an 85.
