CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) is now accepting applications for its 2026-27 Media Internship, providing students from the conference’s eight member institutions with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in collegiate athletics media and championship event coverage.
Entering its second academic year, the A-R-C Media Internship is designed to give students real-world experience working alongside conference staff and campus communications professionals while developing skills in athletic communications, photography, videography, social media, and digital content creation.
Interns will be assigned to predetermined A-R-C championship sites throughout the academic year and will assist with event coverage while creating engaging content that highlights the student-athlete experience and promotes the A-R-C brand. Assignments will be made at championship events within reasonable proximity of the intern’s home campus.
The internship provides students with an opportunity to build their professional portfolios, gain experience in a conference office setting, develop their media skills, and expand their professional networks within collegiate athletics.
“We are excited to continue the A-R-C Media Internship for a second year and provide students with meaningful, hands-on opportunities at our championship events,” said Ali (Wilson) Becker, A-R-C Associate Commissioner. “This experience allows students to apply what they are learning in the classroom in a real-world setting while helping tell the stories of our student-athletes and conference championships.”

Fall: August 31, 2026
Winter: November 23, 2026
Spring: March 22, 2027
Intern assignments will be based on championship needs, student interests and availability, and proximity to the student’s home campus. Selected interns will receive a stipend, with mileage reimbursement provided for approved championship-related travel.
