CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) and The Zone, a leading mental health software platform tailored for athletic programs, are proud to announce a new partnership that will bring mental wellness tools and support directly to leadership conference participants across the conference.
This strategic collaboration marks a significant step forward in the A-R-C’s commitment to the holistic well-being of its athletes, beginning with access to The Zone’s mobile app and performance tools for all members of the conference’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Leadership Conference Participants. The Zone is designed specifically for athletes, providing easy access to mental health check-ins, mindset resets, and confidential support - ensuring student-athletes are equipped to perform at their best both on and off the field.
“This partnership with The Zone is a direct reflection of our strategic vision to put students at the center of what we do, ensuring they have access to the resources and support they need to thrive,” said
Marie Stroman, Commissioner of the A-R-C. “By integrating innovative mental wellness tools into our leadership programming, we are not only elevating the Division III experience, but also fostering a culture of integrity, resilience, and care across our campuses and communities. Together, we are empowering student-athletes to lead with purpose, achieve with distinction, and inspire positive change throughout the A-R-C.”
Built by former athletes, The Zone understands the pressure, isolation, and intensity that student-athletes face today. This partnership with the A-R-C empowers student leaders to lead by example, advocate for wellness, and create a culture of care within their teams and campuses.
“The American Rivers Conference is setting the tone for what leadership in college athletics looks like - one that prioritizes connection, resilience, and proactive care,” said
Erik Poldroo, Co-Founder and COO of The Zone. “We’re proud to stand beside the A-R-C in this effort to normalize mental health conversations and make sure no athlete feels alone in their journey.”
The A-R-C and The Zone will continue to explore further opportunities to expand access and impact across all member institutions throughout the upcoming academic year.
