United Soccer Coaches 2024 Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Recipients Announced

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – On Tuesday, December 31, the United Soccer Coaches announced the Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award recipients. The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) was represented by the women’s programs of Loras College and Wartburg College. 
 
In all, 64 men’s and women’s received either the Gold, Silver, or Bronze version of the College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior, and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season based on the number of cards accumulated divided by the number of games played. The levels, and their explanations, are broken up into the following: 
  • Platinum: No cards accumulated during the season
  • Gold: Percentage of cards accumulated during the season ranging from 1-10%
  • Silver: Percentage of cards accumulated during the season ranging from 11-30% 
  • Bronze: Percentage of cards accumulated during the season ranging from 31-50%
Loras and Wartburg both were awarded the Bronze Award. The Duhawks are led by Matt Pucci and Wartburg College is led by Emily Ryan. 
 
Loras recorded nine yellow cards over 22 games and Wartburg recorded seven yellow cards over 20 games.
