CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced today that it is partnering with FanWord. The A-R-C now becomes the first NCAA Division III conference to partner with FanWord and its storytelling product, FanWord Stories.
FanWord is one of the top storytelling and brand development companies in college sports. The company specializes in building storytelling solutions for athletic departments and conferences, and currently works with about 50 organizations nationwide, including Nebraska, SMU, DePaul, Liberty, East Texas Baptist University, and many more. A-R-C member, Nebraska Wesleyan, was FanWord’s first client in 2018.
“Student-athletes in the American Rivers Conference are exceptional,” said A-R-C Commissioner,
Marie Stroman. “Through our partnership with FanWord, we will better be able to tell their stories of spirited competition, high levels of sportsmanship, and strong performances in each sport. This year we will also aim to highlight the stories of A-R-C alumni to underscore the values and benefits of athletic participation in character formation and leadership development.”
As part of the partnership, the American Rivers Conference gains access to FanWord’s innovative storytelling software that makes it easier than ever for communication professionals to create powerful storytelling content. This will significantly help the conference office highlight the unique narratives of various stakeholders, including student-athletes, alumni, and coaches.
“We’re super excited to launch this partnership with the American Rivers Conference,” said FanWord CEO,
Chris Aumueller. “One of the main reasons we built our software was to make it easier for DIII schools to tell more stories about their amazing student-athletes. It’s great to collaborate with a conference that fully embraces that mission. Besides, we have a very special connection to the conference as Nebraska Weslyean was our very first client back in 2018. So, we cannot wait to get this partnership rolled out.”
A-R-C member institutions that want to learn more about FanWord’s storytelling software can reach out to FanWord CEO, Chris Aumueller, directly at

“I am thrilled for the American Rivers Conference to partner with FanWord,” said A-R-C Assistant Commissioner,
Ali Wilson. “This partnership allows for the league to spotlight just how exceptional we are and I cannot wait to get started using the FanWord Stories platform.”
