CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced today the spring sport members of its 2023-24 All-Academic Team. Five hundred and two student-athletes from the conference’s six spring championship sports, met the requirements for recognition.
To be eligible for the A-R-C All-Academic Team honors, a student-athlete must be on the eligibility list for the sport of nomination, at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least one year in residence and attain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale).
Wartburg College led the way with 95 student-athletes earning All-Academic recognition. Simpson College placed the second highest total on the spring all-academic team with 72, followed by Central College with 60 and Nebraska Wesleyan University with 58. Loras College placed 57 student-athletes on this year’s spring all-academic team to finish fifth-best. The University of Dubuque garnered 55 honorees while Luther College recorded 40 honorees. Coe College placed 34 student-athletes on the list of honorees. Buena Vista University rounds out the A-R-C schools with 31 spring student-athletes named A-R-C All-Academic.
Women’s track and field led all sports with 135 honorees, followed by men’s track and field with 123. Baseball garnered 101 All-Academic honorees and softball with 87. There were 28 men’s tennis student-athletes to earn this recognition and 25 men’s golf student-athletes.

About the American Rivers Conference
The Conference dates back to December 8, 1922, when representatives from 12 colleges got together and formed the "Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Association." Honoring its heritage in Iowa and its expansion outside the state, the American Rivers Conference brand was established on August 9, 2018, to build on the academic and athletic success provided by its legacy, the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The A-R-C has nine full-time members: Buena Vista University, Central College, Coe College, University of Dubuque, Loras College, Luther College, Nebraska Wesleyan University, Simpson College, and Wartburg College.
