WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – For the 14th time in program history and the third consecutive, the Luther College Norse are crowned the men’s golf champions of the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C). Luther bested the field by nine shots, finishing with a three-round total of 904.
Luther saw three golfers earn All-Conference.
Jay Fjelstul, posting a 54-hole total of 219, claimed medalist honors. Teammate
Mark Devlin posted a three-round total of 224.
Haakon Rustad, the 2023 medalist, finished in sixth with a three-round total of 228.
Along with his low medalist honors, Fjelstul becomes the eighth Norse student-athlete to be named the Conference’s Golfer of the Year - joining Gene Sella (1977), Robert Cassidy (1983), Magnus Hellmark (1995, 1996, 1997), Dean Wilson (1999), Scott Theriault (2000), Andrew Peter (2013), Ben Phipps (2022), and Haakon Rustad (2023).
The Norse fired a team score of 294 in the third round, the lowest 18-hole round of the championship. Luther’s victory earned them the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships May 14-17 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.

Scott Fjelstul was voted American Rivers Conference Coach of the Year.
Nebraska Wesleyan finished with three All-Conference golfers, as they finished runner-up as a team.
Harrison Weddell finished fourth with a three-round total of 224 for the championship.
John Lapour finished in eighth place with a 229 total. Finishing T-10th, shooting a 54-hole total of 231, was
Jackson Lapour.
Central College was led by
Jake Moffet, the 2024 A-R-C runner-up, with a three-round total of 222.
Harold Dobernecker finished in ninth with a 54-hole total of 230.
Tucker Kinney of Wartburg stayed steady throughout the championship finishing with a three-round championship total of 228. This was good enough for a fifth place finish.
Carter Ruegsegger of the University of Dubuque finished in seventh after finishing with a 54-hole total of 229.
Coe was represented by
Lucas Geiger. Geiger finished the championship with a total of 231, to tie for tenth place.
