DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Coe College volleyball team secured the outright 2024 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Championship this evening with a 3-2 win over Loras College.
This year’s title marks the fifth title for the Kohawk program. Their last title came in 2023, but Coe claimed the tournament title last season. All five championships for Coe have been under the direction of head coach DeAnn Akins.
It was a thrilling night of volleyball in the A-R-C to see who would claim a trophy in the regular season. It took five nerve wracking sets for the Kohawks to come out on top, 3-2 and earn the outright championship. Kelsey Hansel led the Kohawks with 23 kills while Maddy Maahs recorded 58 assists. Maddie Harris registered 17 digs.

This evening’s victory secured Coe the top seed and a bye in the six-team conference tournament that begins on Tuesday, November 12. The team’s first tournament game will take place Thursday, November 14 where they will face off against the winner of the No. 4 / No. 5 match at home.
The championship match is set for Saturday, November 16, and will hosted by the highest seed remaining in the bracket. The tournament winner will receive the conference’s automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball Championship.
A full preview of the 2024 A-R-C Women’s Volleyball Tournament will be available early next week. Final seeds will be determined after the final regular season contest tomorrow evening.
