USTFCCCA Announces 2022 Team and Individual Academic Honors

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently named its 2022 All-Academic teams and individuals. The American Rivers Conference saw 54 women and 46 men earn All-Academic individual honors. All-Academic team accolades were earned by 8 women's squads and 5 men's squads. Kassie Parker, Loras College, was named the Women's Indoor Track & Field National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year and Isabella Hogue, Nebraska Wesleyan University, was named Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year. 

The Loras College women highlighted the team accolades by sweeping both Women's Indoor Track & Field National Scholar Team of the Year and Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Team of the Year. Loras swept the NCAA Divsion III National Championships this past school year with their first Indoor Track & Field trophy and third straight Outdoor Track & Field title. 

In order to be in contention for Scholar Team of the Year, a program must finish highly at the respective national championship meet and have at least a 3.10 cumulative team GPA. 

Individually on the men's side, Wartburg led all American Rivers Conference schools with 12 honorees, followed by Nebraska Wesleyan with 9. Central added 8 award winners. Loras and Simpson both saw 5 individuals earn honors. Dubuque had 4 individuals and Luther added another 3. 

Wartburg also led the American Rivers Conferences women's teams with 15 recipients. The Duhawks followed with 10 honorees and Nebraska Wesleyan added 9. Dubuque saw 8 individuals earn honors and Central with 6, followed by Buena Vista with 5. Luther saw one individual receive the accolade. 

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic individual honors, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards: competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship; finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List.
