American Rivers Conference Announces 2021 Fall All-Academic Team

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced today the fall sport members of its 2021 All-Academic Team. Six hundred and thirteen student-athletes from the Conference’s eight fall championship sports met the requirements for recognition.
 
To be eligible for All-Academic Team honors, a student-athlete must be on the eligibility list for the sport of nomination, at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least one year in residence and attain an accumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale).
 
Wartburg College led the way in total honorees with 117 student-athletes earning All-Academic recognition. Nebraska Wesleyan University placed the second-highest total on the fall team with 89. Luther College placed 79 student-athletes on the team for the third-highest total, followed by University of Dubuque with 70. Central had the fifth-most honorees with 65 followed by Loras College and Simpson College each placing 62 on the team for the sixth-highest total. Buena Vista University placed 38 student-athletes on the team for the seventh-highest total, followed by Coe College with 31.
 
Women's soccer led all sports with 109 honorees, followed closely by football with 108 honorees. Men's soccer had the third-most honorees with 92, followed by men's and women's cross country both placing 79 student-athletes on the team. Volleyball saw 74 student-athletes collect All-Academic accolades, while women's tennis earned 45. Women's golf rounded out the fall sports honorees with 27.
