Wanek will look to defend her 2020 gold medal as the No. 4 seed.
Cassie Magee of Luther remains in the B-Singles flight in 2021 after finishing runner-up a year ago. Wartburg’s Georgia Nissen also remains in the B-Singles flight in 2021 after a fourth place finish a year ago. Allie Kreider of Central enters in the B-Singles flight in 2021 after finishing 2nd in 2020 at C-Singles. Nebraska Wesleyan’s Ella Ford will be the top-seed in this year’s B-Singles draw. Teammate Crystal Craft and Loras’ Clair Moore are seeded No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
The C-Singles flight will see new faces earning medals in 2021, with the two returning medalists moving up to the B-Singles flight.
In doubles play, Alyssa Lewton of Central will play with a new partner in 2021, Maddie Hartley, but Lewton is no stranger to success in the A-flight, having been a member of the winning team in 2020. Third-place finishers from 2020, Luther’s Sofia Sackett and Lexi Hastings, will return with new partners. Sackett will partner with Ana Olimpio while Hastings partners with Renata Martinez. After only participating in singles a year ago, Simpson’s Wanek will partner with Emily King and take the top-seed in this year’s A-Doubles draw. A member of the 2019 A-Doubles gold medalists, Cook of Luther will partner with Natalia Smith and look for gold as the No. 2 seeds.
