CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (www.iowaconference.com) --- The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced today that Central College track and field athlete Felicia Coleman (Houston, Texas / J. Frank Dobie) and Coe College basketball player Seth Light (Carlisle, Iowa / Carlisle) have been named IIAC Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 10, 2013. The Conference also announced its IIAC Performers of the Week in six sports -- men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field, wrestling and men's tennis.
Women's Indoor Track & Field (track) — Felicia Coleman, Central College, Houston, Texas / J. Frank Dobie
Coleman, a senior, was named the Outstanding Female Performer at the Darren Young Classic hosted by Grinnell College Feb. 9. She won the 60-meter dash with a meet-record time of 7.81 seconds and also anchored the 1,600-meter relay to a come-from-behind victory in 4:01.38. The relay time ranks 21st in Division III. Men's Basketball — Seth Light, Coe College, Carlisle, Iowa / Carlisle
Light, a senior center, averaged 12.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks while shooting 71.4 percent (10-of-14) from the field as Coe picked up a pair of league victories. He scored 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds in a 78-72 win over Loras on Feb. 6, then had 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks in just 19 minutes in a 79-44 rout of Wartburg on Feb. 9. The Kohawks held the Knights to their lowest point total since 1981-1982. (IIAC Male Athlete of the Week)

Women's Basketball — Kate Nielsen, Simpson College, Urbandale, Iowa / Johnston
Nielsen, a senior forward, averaged 24.0 points and 6.0 rebounds and shot 61.3 percent (19-of-31) from the field as the Storm defeated Wartburg, 67-59, on Feb. 6 to capture the outright IIAC title and Loras, 75-62, on Feb. 9 to give head coach Brian Niemuth his 500th career victory. She scored 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting against the Knights, pulling down seven boards and making three steals. Against Loras, she posted 21 points, five rebounds and three steals. With two regular season games remaning, Nielsen has 480 points -- just 20 shy of becoming the sixth player in Simpson history to reach 500 points in a single season.

Wrestling — Dylan Azinger, Wartburg College, DeWitt, Iowa / Central Clinton
Azinger, a senior, scored a takedown with seven seconds remaining in the third period to score a 6-4 victory over No. 10 Ethan Ball in the 174-pound match of the Knights' 33-3 Iowa Conference Dual Championship win over Coe Feb. 8. The Knights won their 21st consecutive IIAC wrestling title by winning the dual.

Women's Indoor Track & Field (field) — Monique Davisson, Wartburg College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa / Washington
Davisson, a senior, won the triple jump at the Iowa State Classic with a leap of 11.82 meters (38-9 1/2). Her effort leads all IIAC jumpers by 2 feet, 8-3/4 inches and ranks third in Division III.

Men's Indoor Track & Field (track) — Daniel Bonthius, Wartburg College, Iowa City, Iowa / Regina
Bonthius, a sophomore, placed third in the non-seeded portion of the 800-meter run at the Iowa State Classic. He finished the race in 1 minute, 53.03 seconds, wiping out a five-year-old school record (1:53.94) with a time that currently ranks among the top 10 in Division III.

Men's Indoor Track & Field (field) — Kevin Jamison, University of Dubuque, Hillside, Ill. / Proviso West
Jamison, a freshman, won the triple jump competition at the Wis.-Platteville Invitational Feb. 9 with a leap of 14.06 meters (46-1 1/2). His effort leads all IIAC competitors by 2 feet, 7.5 inches and ranks 19th in Division III.

Men's Tennis — Brian Rasmussen, Wartburg College, Fort Dodge, Iowa / Fort Dodge
Rasmussen, a senior, improved 3-0 in both singles and doubles play this spring with four victories Feb. 9. At number two singles, he defeated Ashford's Carlos Pico 7-5, 7-6 and Aurora's Brian Koski 6-2, 6-3. In doubles, he and Yusuf Chowdhry did not drop a game en route to 8-0 victories over Ashford's Pico and Arno Epping and Aurora's Koski and Ricky Hernandez at the number one position.
