CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Commissioner Marie Stroman has been appointed to join the NCAA Divisions II and III Playing Rules Oversight Panel (PROP). Stroman begins her service immediately.

PROP is charged with reviewing playing-rules proposals with particular attention to student-athlete safety, financial impact, and the image of the game. The panel also evaluates implementation of rules put forward by sport-specific committees and provides oversight to ensure that decisions maintain the integrity of competition. PROP is composed of 12 members, including administrators from Division II and Division III championships committees, management councils, and commissioners associations, alongside at-large representatives.

“I am honored to be appointed to the NCAA Divisions II and III Playing Rules Oversight Panel," said Stroman. "This work ensures that our rules uphold student-athlete welfare, competitive integrity, and the standards of Division III athletics. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues to maintain the highest levels of fairness, safety, and excellence.”

Stroman brings more than a decade of NCAA governance experience to the position. She began her national service as chair of the Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and has since contributed to multiple committees dedicated to sportsmanship, championships, diversity and equity, and grant selection. She has also participated in leadership development programs such as the NCAA Pathway Program, Game Day the DIII Way Ambassador Training, and Division III Inclusive Leaders Training.

Her appointment to PROP reflects both her deep experience in NCAA governance and her long-standing commitment to advancing the student-athlete experience.
