Athletes of the Week & Weekly Report Announced by A-R-C - October 27, 2025

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced that University of Dubuque women’s soccer student-athlete Riley Trudeau and Simpson College football student-athlete Noah Noland have been named American Rivers Conference Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 26, 2025. The A-R-C weekly awards are nominated and voted on by the league’s sports information departments. The conference office then selects the female and male athletes of the week based upon sport performers of the week. 


Female Athlete of the Week - Women’s Soccer - Offensive Performer of the Week - Riley Trudeau (Cumberland, R.I./Cumberland), University of Dubuque

  • Trudeau scored the game-winner off a corner kick to complete the upset of No. 15 Loras, defeating the Duhawks for the first time since 2014. 

  • She then followed up with a four-point performance, scoring a goal and dishing out two assists. 

  • Her four-point performance against Coe is the most points she has scored in a single game in her career.


Male Athlete of the Week - Football - Defensive Player of the Week - Noah Noland (Carlisle, Iowa/Carlisle), Simpson College

  • Noland matched his career high with 18 tackles in Simpson’s win over UD in conference action. 

  • He had 12 solo stops, his best performance. 

  • Noland additionally added two solo sacks for a loss of nine yards. 


Football - Offensive Player of the Week - Brady Kelly (Boca Raton, Fla./Calvary Christian), Coe College

  • Kelly had another impressive performance in one half of action against Luther. 

  • He totaled 270 yards and four touchdowns. 

  • He was 15-for-18 in the first two quarters and had a long throw of 49 yards 

  • Kelly now has 23 touchdowns on the season. 


Football - Special Teams Player of the Week - Tanner Philpott (Waukee, Iowa/Waukee Northwest)

  • Philpott punted eight times for a career-high 333 yards. 

  • He landed five punts inside the 10-yard line. 

  • He averaged 41.63 yards per punt with a long of 45. 


Men’s Soccer - Defensive Performer of the Week - Jose Serra (Benicassim, Spain/Agora Lledo International), University of Dubuque

  • Serra scored his first goal of the night off a penalty kick that would give the Spartans their first lead of the game. 

  • He scored again later again for the game-winner just over a minute later in the game.


Men’s Soccer - Offensive Performer of the Week - Jacob Chickering (Indianola, Iowa/Indianola), Wartburg College

  • Chickering recorded his first collegiate goal and assist this week.

  • He scored the game winner against Coe and assisted in the game-tying goal at Simpson. 

  • He helped lead the Knights to a 1-0-1 week in conference action. 

  • He logged an average of 69 minutes per game during the week.


Women’s Soccer - Defensive Performer of the Week - Claire Husnick (Schaumburg, Ill./James B. Conant), University of Dubuque

  • The UD women’s soccer team went 2-0 this week in conference action. 

  • Husnick had an assist on the game-winning goal to upset No. 15 Loras on a perfectly placed corner kick.

  • She then recorded another assist in the dominating win over Coe.


Men’s Swimming & Diving - Performer of the Week - Mattia Rosatelli (Rome, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Albert Einstein), Nebraska Wesleyan University

  • Rosatelli led Nebraska Wesleyan to a 135-67 dual victory over Minnesota-Morris with a pair of individual wins and a standout relay performance. 

  • He picked up individual wins in the 400 IM (4:25.10) and 100 breaststroke (1:00.39).

  • He swam the breaststroke leg of NWU’s top 400 medley relay, which posted a time of 3:50.28. 

  • He accounted for 18 individual points. 


Women’s Swimming & Diving - Performer of the Week - Ryleigh Schroeter (Blair, Neb./Blair), Nebraska Wesleyan University

  • Schroeter helped lead Nebraska Wesleyan to a 145-57 win over Minnesota-Morris, contributing two event victories and key relay legs. 

  • She won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:02.71 and the 100 butterfly in 1:02.20. 

  • She anchored NWU’s 400 medley relay that took first place. 


Women’s Volleyball - Defensive Performer of the Week - Ashley Glennon (Dubuque, Iowa/Hempstead), University of Dubuque

  • Glennon compiled 24 defensive digs in the Spartans non-conference win on the week. 

  • Additionally, she had one service ace and seven kills. 


Women’s Volleyball - Offensive Performer of the Week - Elecea Saathoff (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Lutheran), Nebraska Wesleyan University

  • Saathoff directed the Prairie Wolf attack that week 2-0 on the week, sweeping Doane and taking down Wartburg in a five-set thriller. 

  • She recorded 90 assists across the two wins.

  • She guided the P-Wolf team to hitting percentages of .259 and .192. 

  • Additionally, she tallied 17 digs and one block. 


Weekly Report

No. 7 Wartburg took down No. 14 Central in a top-15 showdown over the weekend in an important A-R-C matchup. The Knights now take sole possession of the league standings with two games and a bye remaining in their schedule. 

The soccer race remains tight on both the men’s and women’s side. The University of Dubuque Spartans took down nationally ranked Loras last week for the first time since 2011 to move into the driver seat of the league title. The men’s race is almost as tight as it could be with four teams entering the final day of league action with a chance to hoist the conference trophy. 

The Spartans remain at 5-0 in the women’s volleyball standings with three matches left in conference play. 

Championship Central: The next set championship for the A-R-C is the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championship in Dubuque, Iowa as Loras College serves as the host. The full 2025-26 championship calendar can be found here: https://tr.ee/xwew1v
