MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – It was a successful day one at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships for American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) student-athletes. 
 
Numerous advanced to the finals and12 became All-Americans today. The most impressive performance on the women’s side came from Nebraska Wesleyan’s Avery Decker finishing national runner-up in the javelin and the top performance of the day on the men’s side came from Spencer Moon from Simpson who won the national title in the final event of the day, the 10,000m. 
 
Official team scores will be updated beginning on day two. 
 
All-America Status
For the first year, First-Team All-America status is awarded to finishers first through eighth (individual events and relays) in each event at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, similar to years past. Second-Team All-America status is awarded to finishers ninth through sixteenth (individual events) and ninth through tenth (relays) in each event at the championships. Preliminary round placings are used for classification for events in which fewer than sixteen participate in the final round. Student-athletes and relays must have a valid time or mark in at least one round to earn All-America status.
