CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The coaches have selected the 2024 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Women's Soccer postseason award selections. These student-athletes have distinguished themselves through a challenging conference regular season schedule.
Coaches from the conference nominated and selected this year’s all-conference team, recognizing 20 field players and two goalies. In addition to honoring the all-conference team, the release also recognizes Offensive Most Valuable Performer, Defensive Most Valuable Performer, Rookie of the Year, and Coaching Staff of the Year.

The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced today that Loras College’s
Lauren Riggle has been selected Women’s Soccer Offensive Most Valuable Performer for the 2024 season. Loras’
Reagan Lindsay has been named Women’s Soccer Defensive Most Valuable Performer and
Savannah Schneider of Simpson has been named the inaugural Rookie of the Year. Loras head coach
Matt Pucci and his staff were voted American Rivers Conference Coaching Staff of the Year. In addition to the major awards, the conference announced the 2024 All-Conference team.
Riggle is earning her spot on the all-conference team for the first time in her career in addition to the MVP honor. She is the sixth Loras Duhawk member to receive Offensive MVP accolades, joining Katie Truesdal (2014 & 2015), Elizabeth Mills (2016), Gretchen Schutz (2018), Brynn Jacobi (2019), and Savannah Johnson (2023). Riggle finished conference play with 20 points. She ranked tied for first with most goals of eight and led the league in assists with 11 recorded.
Lindsay is the fifth Loras College player to receive Defensive MVP honors joining Kinsey Campbell (2013), Taylor Trovato (2019), Payton McDonnell (2021), and Olivia Lansing (2022). She was part of a defensive unit that finished conference play only allowing a single goal. In addition to her defensive performance, she was responsible for one goal and 11 assists, to total 13 points. This is Lindsay’s second all-conference honor.
Prior to the MVP award being split to recognize an offensive and defensive standout in 2013, Loras had three players named conference MVP.
Simpson’s Schneider made her presence known in her first year in the league to earn the inaugural Rookie of the Year honor. Although not starting a conference game, she appeared in all eight and recorded four goals.
The Loras coaching staff, headed by Pucci, was voted as the league’s Coaching Staff of the Year. The assistant coaches for the Duhawks are Sam Koenig and Alison Chesterfield. The coaching staff guided the Duhawks to a perfect 8-0 record in conference play and an overall record of 19-0. Loras totaled a league best 103 points in their eight conference contests. Their goal total of 33 and assist total of 37 led the league. The Duhawks claimed their fourth straight regular season title. This is the 15th Coaching Staff of the Year award for the Loras program and Coach Pucci’s sixth as the head coach.
Joining Riggle and Lindsay on the all-conference team is seven Duhawks.

Isabel Russmann,
Christina Salerno, and
Athena Sheets all are earning all-conference this season after their perfect 8-0 conference season. Frost returned for a fifth year and made the most of it starting all eight conference games. She found the back of the net on three occasions and added five assists for 11 points. Following earning Offensive MVP last season, Johnson returned again in dominant fashion recording five goals and seven assists for 17 total points this conference season. She was responsible for one game-winning goal. Kells was a dominant factor in the goal again this season for Loras. In her presence, she allowed no goals in the 547 minutes she was in action throughout the eight conference games. She recorded three shutouts. Morgano and Salerno was part of a strong defensive front for the Duhawks this season. On top of Morgano’s defensive skills, she was responsible for an assists for Loras this season. Salerno was on the field for 547 minutes throughout the eight conference games she started. Sheets found the back of the goal on five occasions and recorded two game-winning goals for the Duhawks. Russmann finished the conference season with two goals, both game-winners, and one assist.
Simpson had the next most all-conference honorees with five and were represented by
Meredith Downs,
Maddie Hays,
Hailey Kowzan,
Cassie Nash, and
Julia Wagoner. Downs led the Storm defensive from the goalkeeper position and allowed just three goals this conference season. She appeared in six games and recorded one shutout and a 5-1 record. Hays guided the defense front that averaged just 0.38 goals per conference game. She additionally contributed on the offensive side of the ball with three goals and one assist. One goal was a game-winning goal. She was a perfect two -for-two on PKs this fall. Kowzan recorded four goals and six assists through eight games for the Storm for a total of 14 points. She gained credit for one game-winning goal. Nash returned for her final year and continued to make noise and lead the Storm. She led Simpson with 18 points this season off eight goals and two assists. She recorded three game-winning goals. Wagoner, the 2023 A-R-C Defensive MVP, had another strong season assisting with the notable Storm defense.
Earning all-conference for the Knights of Wartburg is
Lauren Kirkle,
Avery Mize,
Greta Rothe, and
Sami Webster. Kirkle and Webster led Wartburg on the offensive side of the ball both recording five points through the eight conference matches. Kirkle’s points came from one goal and three assists while Webster’s came from two goals and one assist. Kirkle’s goal was a game-winning goal. Mize led the Knights defense which allowed 1.00 goals per game throughout the fall. Rothe sat right behind Kirkle and Webster with four points recorded. She had two goals on the season and both were game-winning goals.
The University of Dubuque is represented by the trio of
Emma Kober,
Alyssa Tranchita, and
Virginia Speltz. Speltz led the Spartans defense that helpd opponents to 0.75 goals per trip to the pitch this fall. Kober had another impressive showing this fall for Dubuque. She recorded one goal and two assists on the season. Tranchita had a standout junior season where she recorded ten points, coming from four goals and two assists. Two of her goals were game-winning performances.
Grace Coates represents the Central College Dutch on this season’s all-conference list. She is earning her third career all-conference honor after recording six points this fall from two goals and two assists.

The Conference dates back to December 8, 1922, when representatives from 12 colleges got together and formed the "Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Association." Honoring its heritage in Iowa and its expansion outside the state, the American Rivers Conference brand was established on August 9, 2018, to build on the academic and athletic success provided by its legacy, the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The A-R-C has nine full-time members: Buena Vista University, Central College, Coe College, University of Dubuque, Loras College, Luther College, Nebraska Wesleyan University, Simpson College, and Wartburg College.
