WAVERLY, Iowa – The No. 2-seeded Wartburg College Knights won the 2024 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Men’s Soccer Tournament Championship with a 1-0 victory over No. 4-seeded Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairie Wolves on Saturday from their home pitch.
After a scoreless first half the Knights found the back of the net by a goal from Flori Gembo in the 48th minute. This goal was enough to send Wartburg back to the NCAA Tournament. The final score was 1-0.
This victory marks the Knights eighth tournament title in program history and their second consecutive. The title comes under the direction of head coach Mike Madigan.
The Knights, who now receive the A-R-C’s automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Tournament, will learn their initial postseason destination during the selection show Monday, November 11 at 12:30p (CST).
