CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The 2022 American Rivers Conference Baseball Tournament is set for Thursday, May 12 - Saturday, May 14. Buena Vista University (26-12, 18-6 A-R-C) claimed the conference championship on May 7, 2022, to earn the tournament’s number-one seed. The Beaver’s earned the program’s 16^th regular season title and first since 2014 after a double-header split with Coe College (3-11, 11-6).

The 2022 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Baseball AQ Tournament begins on Thursday, May 12th with five games scheduled. The majority of the tournament will take place at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. However, the opening round game between the No.4 Luther (21-18, 13-11 A-R-C) and No.5 Coe (17-19, 12-12 A-R-C) will take place at Daniels Park in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 

During the regular season conference play the Beavers’ only series loss came at the hands of then ranked No.15/24 Loras College. The Duhawks took the series 2-1 (1-0, 4-7, 14-9) on April 1-2. Buena Vista will face the winner of Luther/Coe in what will be the tournament’s fourth game. Coe won the regular season series against Luther 2-1 (5-1, 2-3, 9-2). The two teams last played each other on April 19 and April 26.

Loras College (31-9, 15-9 A-R-C) enters the conference tournament having earned the number-two seed in this year’s field and a first-round bye. Nebraska Wesleyan (20-19, 13-11 A-R-C) is seeded third and will square off with sixth-seeded Wartburg (22-19, 12-12 A-R-C) in the opening round at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Duhawks await the winner of Nebraska Wesleyan/Wartburg for a match-up in the tournament’s third game. The Praire Wolves and the Knights last saw each other May 1-2 and it was Nebraska Wesleyan who came out on top. The Praire Wolves led the Knights 2-1 (8-3, 12-2, 7-19) in their three-game series. During the regular season, the Duhawks claimed series against Nebraska Wesleyan and Wartburg. Loras defeated the Praire Wolves 2-1 (6-4, 9-8, 7-9) and the Knight 3-0 (8-6, 12-11, 7-3).

The winner of the double-elimination tournament receives the American Rivers Conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division III Championships. The Regional round takes place May 19-22 followed by the 16-team Super Regional round the following weekend. Eight teams will emerge from the Super Regional round to line up at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium for the NCAA Division III Baseball Championships June 3-8.
