INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA announced earlier this week that the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) will have two members host the opening rounds of the 2022 NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Tournament. The A-R-C automatic qualifier, No. 15/10-ranked Loras College Duhawks (16-0-3, 8-0 A-R-C) and the regular season runner-up, No. 17/19-ranked Wartburg College Knights (15-2-2, 6-1-1 A-R-C) will host the opening rounds of the 2022 NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Tournament.
The Duhawks will host the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets (15-3-4, 13-0-1 UMAC) Saturday, November 12 at 1:00 p.m. from the Rock Bowl on the campus of Loras College. The Yellowjackets received the automatic qualifying bid from the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC), after defeating Northwestern 6-0 in the conference tournament championship match.
Loras enters the 2022 NCAA Tournament as the A-R-C tournament champions after defeating Simpson at the Rock Bowl in Dubuque, Iowa last Saturday 6-1.

th minute and her second coming in the 31
st minute.
Erin Rieckens scored the fifth goal to put the Duhawks up 5-0 heading into halftime. Loras’
Payton McDonnell converted on the penalty kick to put the final touches on scoring for the Duhawks. This is the 14
th conference tournament title in program history for the Duhawks.
Wisconsin-Superior qualified for their second-consecutive NCAA Tournament as the automatic qualifier out of the UMAC. The Yellowjackets finished the regular season having not lost a match in 16 matches and are 14-0-2 with nine shutouts. They secured a 6-0 shutout victory over Northwestern to clinch a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The two teams haven’t met since August 31, 2013. The Duhawks defeated the YellowJackets 7-0.
Wartburg will host the Pioneers of Grinnell College (11-2-5, 7-0-1 Midwest) Saturday, November 12 at Salzwedel Field on the campus of Wartburg College for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff. The Knights received an at-large bid into this year’s field after dropping out of the conference tournament in a double overtime loss to Simpson in the semifinals (2-1). Wartburg put together a strong resume during the regular season, losing just one match, which landed them an at-large bid to this year’s NCAA Tournament.
Grinnell enters the NCAA Tournament after claiming the Midwest Conference tournament title by way of penalty kicks last Saturday to earn the conference’s automatic bid. The Pioneers and Beloit College were scoreless after two overtime periods leading to the penalty kicks where Grinnell would take home the trophy. The Pioneers are 11-2-5 on the season and have lost just once in its last 14 outings.
The last time these two teams met was last season on October 3
rd in Grinnell, Iowa where the Knights would take home a 3-0 win. Wartburg leads the all-time series five wins to three.
The winner of the Dubuque, Iowa (Loras College) Regional will play the winner of the Cleveland, Ohio (Case Western Reserve University) Regional (Case Western Reserve, Ithaca, Capital University, Pittsburgh-Greensburg). The winner of the Waverly, Iowa (Wartburg College) Regional will move on to play the winner of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Carnegie Mellon University) Regional. (Calvin, Nazareth College of New York, Carnegie Mellon, Brynn Athyn).
