CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced today that University of Dubuque sophomore forward
Brooke Brodzinski (Minooka, Ill./Minooka) has been selected as the league's Offensive MVP and Wartburg College junior defender
Sarah Campbell (Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock) was named Defensive MVP. Wartburg College head coach
Tiffany Pins, assistants
Justin Kaiser and
Scott Schara were voted American Rivers Coaching Staff of the Year. In addition to the major awards, the conference announced the 22-member All-Conference team.
Second year, Brodzinski, is gathering her first-career All-Conference honors after being named an Honorable Mention performer a season ago. The sophomore forward becomes the first Spartan to receive Offensive MVP honors since Offensive and Defensive MVP awards were separated starting with the 2013 season. Two Spartans have been named MVP in program history
Kim Monigold (2005) and
Sara Fassbinder (2009). The Minooka, Ill. native led the conference in both goals scored (10) and in game-winning goals (4) to guide the Spartans to a 6-3-1 overall mark and a 4-3-1 A-R-C record. The sophomore ranked second in total shots (39) and shots on goal (19) to propel a Dubuque offense that ranked tied for third in goals scored this season.
Wartburg's
Sarah Campbell becomes the second Knight to earn Defensive MVP honors since the award began in 2013. She follows in the footsteps of her older sister
Zoey Campbell who won it in 2015. The junior defender was the rock of the Wartburg defense that only allowed one goal in their seven contests this spring season. The Wartburg defense was so stout, Knight goalkeepers only had to collect 16 saves on the year. Campbell is now a back-to-back All-Conference honoree.
For the second time in her tenure at Wartburg, Tiffany Pins has been voted as the A-R-C Coach of the Year after guiding the Knights to a perfect 7-0 record to claim the program's first conference title since 2015. Under Pins the Knights have now collected three conference championships, including two outright championships (2015, 2020). Pins is assisted by
Justin Kaiser and
Scott Schara.
The Knights, who won the conference title this spring season, saw a league-leading seven All-Conference performers, including Defensive MVP honors to Campbell. Of the seven All-Conference performers, five are earning at least their second career nod to the All-Conference squad.
Gabby Corday (So., Denver, Iowa/Denver),

Marissa Lopez earned honorable mention recognition in 2018. Third year,
Kate Berglund (Jr., Polk City, Iowa/North Polk) is garnering her first career honor.
Corday and Osburn were part of a Wartburg back line that let the league in opponent scoring average at .14, allowing just one goal in seven conference matches. In goal for the Knights' defense was Lopez. The junior keeper played 585 minutes in goal, owning a .154 goals against average, tops in the conference. The Knights had plenty of offensive skill to go around, paced by Berglund and Smith with three goals each, which tied for ninth best in the league. Both of Smith's goals were game winners for the Knights. Luers' fired 32 shots in seven matches, 11 of which were placed on goal. Additionally, she scored two goals with one going in the books as a game-winner.
Joining Brodinski on the All-Conference team are three other Spartans, highlighted by now three-time All-Conference goalkeeper
Victoria Roethler (Sr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson). The senior was second in the league in saves this season with 36, while also having a second-best save percentage of .878 in Dubuque's eight conference matches. Roethler only allowed five goals on the season. The 2017 Defensive MVP,
Carissa Brown (Sr., Oswego, Ill./Oswego) finds herself on the All-Conference team for the third time in her career as well. Leading the defensive line, Brown and the Spartan defense held opponents to a .63 average. Sophomore midfielder
Baylee Vincent (Algonquin, Ill./Harry D Jacobs) rounds out the All-Conference performers for the University of Dubuque. The Algonquin, Ill. native tallied two assists for the Spartans this season.

Rounding out the All-Conference team is
Madi Strecker (Sr., Denver, Colo./Arapohoe) and
