WAVERLY, Iowa -- The Wartburg College women's track & field team captured the team title at the 2021 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, March 6 at Hoover Fieldhouse on the campus of Wartburg College.
With a final point total of 200, the women of Wartburg College claimed their third indoor title in the last four years. The Knights recorded five individual titles and 19 All-Conference performances on their way to picking up the program's 17th overall Indoor Track & Field team championship. The team performance earned head coach
Marcus Newsom and his staff Women's Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
The Most Valuable Track Performer honor went to Nebraska Wesleyan's
Aspen Rolfes (Sr., Lincoln, Neb./Pius X). Rolfes entered the weekend with Division III leading times in the 200-meter and the 400-meter dashes. The senior took home the gold in the 200m with a sprint of 25.04 seconds, defeating second-place by 0.64 seconds. In the 400-meter Rolfes sprinted to a silver medal, crossing the finish line in 57.96. In total she garnered 18 team points for Nebraska Wesleyan, helping guide the Prairie Wolves to a fourth place team finish.
The Most Valuable Field Performer accolade went to Wartburg's
Breya Christopher (So., Galena, Ill./River Ridge). The sophomore contributed 18 team points to Wartburg's first-place finish of 200 team points, while taking home two All-Conference medals. Christopher earned gold in the high jump (1.62m) by .03m to defended her crown from a season ago. She also had an All-Conference silver medal performance in the Triple Jump with a leap of 11.28 meters.

- Luther College took home the gold in the Distance Medley (Stephanie Lewis, Mya Ploor, Anneke Knauss, Amelia Hornseth) with a time of 12:37.19.
- Wartburg's Carina Collet takes the gold medal in the 5,000-meter run.
- Elayna Bahl of Loras takes the gold in the 60-meter hurdles with the only time under nine seconds (8.92).
- Loras' Marion Edwards takes care of business in the 60-meter dash (7.71) to secure the gold for the Duhawks.
- Kassie Rosenbum of Loras College squeaks by Wartburg's Fisher in the Mile Run (5:06.01) to claim the gold.
- Loras' Alyssa Pfadenhauer upsets NWU's Rolfes to take the gold medal in the 400m (57.82) dash by 0.14 seconds.
- Reagan Janzen of Nebraska Wesleyan takes the gold in the 800-meter run (2:16.73) by nearly a full second.
- Nebraska Wesleyan's Aspen Rolfes, with the fastest 200m time in Division III entering the weekend, takes the gold in the event at 25.04 seconds.
- Aubrie Fisher of Wartburg flips the 2020 script and defeats Rosenbum in the 3,000-meter run (9:59.66).
- Dubuque freshman Kaitlyn Wilder eclipses 14 meters in the shot put to take home the gold for the Spartans (14.01m).
- Demetria Johnson of the University of Dubuque collects the gold medal in the long jump (5.46m).
- Dubuque's Caroline Dochterman crowned conference champion in the pole vault (3.42m), winning by 0.10 meters.
- The Nebraska Wesleyan 4x800 relay team of Reagan Janzen, Camryn Larsen, Allie McLuen, Gabby Thomas took home gold medals with a time of 9:30.23.
- Loras' 4x400 relay team collects gold medals for the Duhawks by over two full seconds with a time 3:57.18. The Duhawk relay team consisted of Stevie Lamb, Marion Edwards, Elayna Bahl, Alyssa Pfadenhauer.
