Dubuque's Joseph, Wartburg's Brockway Named AP Little All-Americans

Cedar Rapids, Iowa - University of Dubuque senior defensive back Michael Joseph (Oswego, Ill/Oswego) and Wartburg senior wide receiver Riley Brockway (Postville, Iowa/Postville) have been named to the 2017 Associated Press Little All-American team. Joseph was tabbed a first-team selection while Brockway garnered second-team honors.  

Joseph, the Iowa Conference Defensive Most Valuable Player, led the league with eight interceptions and ranked fourth in NCAA Division III with 0.8 interceptions per game. In 10 games the Oswego, Ill. native averaged 1.6 passes defended to rank 26th in Division III. From the corner back position he totaled 56 tackles (35 solo) in is final season for the Spartans. The versatile Joseph also returned his first and only kick return of his career 96-yards for a touchdown. Earlier this week, Joseph was named first-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association, making him a 2017 consensus All-American. He was also named d3football.com All-West Region Defensive Player of the Year and one of 60 seniors nationally, across all divisions, to be invited to the Reese's Senior Bowl. 

Brockway's senior season concluded with 1,397 receiving yards on 91 receptions. His receiving yards total ranks third in NCAA Division III and his 7.0 receptions per game stands at 26th in the nation. From Postville, Iowa, Brockway scored 15 receiving touch downs in 13 games to rank ninth in Division III. He now holds Wartburg school records for single-season receptions and receiving yards. Brockway also garnered first-team All-West Region honors from d3football.com and was a first-team All-Iowa Conference performer this season.
