He is second all-time with a 61.4% completion percentage (659-1074). A dual-threat, he has rushed for 1,502 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Through the end of the regular season, Schrader ranks 18th in NCAA Division III for total offense (307.1 yards/game), 19th in passing yards (2,725 yards), 16th in yards per attempt (9.05), 25th in completion percentage (65.8), and 25th in passing yards per game (272.5). In 2014 he was named Third Team D3football.com All-American and Second Team D3football.com All- West Region.
Schrader is a two-time IIAC Football (Offensive) Player of the Week, earning the award on November 9, 2014 and November 9, 2015. His November 9, 2014 honor also included being named Iowa Conference Male Athlete of the Week.
2015 Defensive Most Valuable Player – Blaine Snitker, University of Dubuque
Snitker, a three-time First Team All-Iowa Conference selection at linebacker, was the key to the Dubuque defense that led the IIAC in nearly every major defensive statistical category including turnovers forced (18), scoring defense (15.4 points/game), total defense (314.7 yards/game), rushing average (3.5 yards/rush), completion percentage (55.8), first downs allowed (127), and opponent third down pct (35.4%).
In conference play this season, Snitker made 52 tackles (15 solo) with 3.5 tackles for loss, and one interception. He has played 35 career games, posting 281 tackles (122 solo), 23.0 tackles for loss, and six interceptions. The senior linebacker currently ranks seventh all-time at UD in career tackles (281) and ninth in career tackles for loss (23.0). With Snitker on the field, UD has allowed only 15.3 points per game. Without Snitker, UD has given up 30.25 points per game.
Snitker is the fourth Spartans student-athlete to be named an Iowa Conference MVP and the first defensive player to earn the honor. Previous winners include quarterback Rick Steil (1979), wide receiver Michael Zweifel (2011), and quarterback Wyatt Hanus (2012).
Snitker is a two-time IIAC Football (Defensive) Player of the Week, earning the award on October 6, 2013 and October 4, 2015. His October 4, 2015 honor also included being named Iowa Conference Male Athlete of the Week.
2015 Iowa Conference Football Coach of the Year – Stan Zweifel, University of Dubuque
Zweifel led the Spartans to a 8-2 overall record including a 7-0 mark in the Iowa Conference to win the school's eighth IIAC Football Championship and earn a berth in the NCAA Division III Championships. This is the second IIAC Coach of the Year honor for Zweifel, having also won in 2011. He is the second UD coach to win multiple honors (Don Birmingham - 1979, 1980). It is the sixth time a Dubuque head coach has earned the honor - Maury Waugh, 1972; Don Birmingham, 1979, 1980; Don Turner, 1987; and Stan Zweifel, 2011.
2015 All-Iowa Conference Football Team
The Iowa Conference also announced the 2015 All-Iowa Conference Football Team. The 54-member team includes 24 earning at-least their second all-conference honor, including Wartburg punter
Grant Zimmerman, who becomes a four-time honoree (First Team: 2012, 2014; Second Team: 2013, 2015). Dubuque linebacker
Blaine Snitker, Wartburg running back
Brandon Domeyer, and Buena Vista kicker/punter
Tyler Stolen each earned their third all-conference honor. Snitker, in addition to being named Defensive MVP and First Team linebacker this season, was named first team in 2013 and 2014. Domeyer has earned second team running back three straight years beginning in 2013 and running through this season. Stolen moved up to first team punter after being named second team punter in 2014. Stolen also captured first-team honors at both punter and placekicker in 2013. Wartburg quarterback
Logan Schrader repeated as first team and Offensive MVP.
Dubuque's five first team defenders were the most for any unit on a specific team. Dubuque and Wartburg tied with three first team offense selections. Central was the only team to place a student-athlete on all six position specific teams with one on first team offense, two on first team defense, one on first team special teams, one on second team offense, two second team defenders, and a second team special teams performer.
Undefeated conference champion Dubuque led the team totals with 14 selections - eight on first team and six on second team. The Spartans placed seven on offense, six on defense, and one on special teams. IIAC runner-up Wartburg was right on UD's heels with 13 honorees. The Knights had an even six on offense, six on defense, and a punter. Central was third with eight selections, just ahead of Simpson with seven. Buena Vista and Loras tied for fifth with four honorees. Coe with three and Luther with one selection round out the 2015 team.
