Sherden, a senior running back, set a single-game school record with 269 rushing yards on 37 carries with a touchdown in a 25-22 victory over Buena Vista, breaking the old mark of 263 set in 1957 by Brad Hustad against Upper Iowa. Sherden, who averaged 7.3 yards per carry, also caught two balls for three yards and returned two kickoffs for 40 yards to amass 312 all purpose yards.
