Ayden Fletcher Award Player of the Week Week Of 4/23/2024 Sport Men's Tennis School Central College Year Junior Position Hometown Waukee, Iowa High School Waukee Men’s Tennis – Player of the Week Ayden Fletcher, Central College Jr., Waukee, Iowa/Waukee Fletcher went 4-0 on the week as the Dutch picked up two important conference victories. Central defeated Dubuque (9-0) and Loras (8-1). The duo of Alex Slaymaker and Fletcher picked up a 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles over Dubuque’s Dawson Freese and Ryan Linkie. Fletcher defeated Dubuque’s Pedwar Castillo at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 7-6. The junior paired up with Slaymaker again at No. 2 doubles to defeat Lucas Healy and Sam Canas Guerrero of Loras 8-6. At No. 1 singles, Fletcher took down Loras’ Gage Becker 6(4)-7(7), 6-3, 1(10)-0(8). Central is 8-10 overall on the season and 5-1 in conference action. The Dutch are back on the court later this week as they round of their conference slate against Wartburg (Friday) and Coe (Saturday). The Waukee, Iowa native is collecting his first career Men’s Tennis Player of the Week honor.
