Megan Johnson Award Female Athlete of the Week Week Of 4/15/2024 Sport American Rivers Conference School Central College Year Senior Position Distance Hometown Parkersburg, Iowa High School Aplington-Parkersburg Female Athlete of the Week - Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Track Performer of the Week Megan Johnson, Central College Sr., Parkersburg, Iowa/Aplington-Parkersburg Johnson was in action at the Bryan Clay Invitational April 11-13 in Azusa, California, where she competed against a cluster of Division I athletes. The senior now holds the top spot in Division III this season in the 3,000-steeplechase after recording a time of 10:19.79 to break the conference record by over a second. She picked up the steeplechase victory out of 78 runners. In the 1,500 meters open, she recorded a time of 4:31.06 to finish 88th out of 191 runners. This time was good enough to put her seventh nationally on the TFRRS list this season and break the Central record. The Dutch are slated to compete at the Kansas Relays, John Green Combined, and Augustana Meet of Champions this upcoming weekend. The Parkersburg, Iowa native is picking up her first career Women’s Outdoor Track Performer of the Week honor. Additionally, she has earned Indoor Field Performer of the Week once in her career (2/19/24).
