Lev van Hemert Award Player of the Week Week Of 4/15/2024 Sport Men's Tennis School Luther College Year Freshman Position Hometown Amsterdam, Netherlands High School Men’s Tennis – Player of the Week Lev van Hemert, Luther College Fr., Amsterdam, Netherlands Luther picked up important conference wins over Wartburg (9-0) and Coe (7-2). The freshman recorded a perfect 4-0 record on the week. Against Wartburg, he teamed up with Joao Benvenutti at No. 2 doubles to take down Sean Oslund and Kyle Sehlin, 8-3. At No. 2 singles he took down Wartburg’s Oslund 6-2, 6-1. Pairing up with Benvenutti again at No. 2 doubles, they defeated the Kohawk pair of Graham Peterson and Luke Doig (8-2). The freshman played No. 3 singles against Coe and picked up the 6-1, 6-2 win over Bryton Short. Luther is now 19-5 overall this season and 6-0 in conference action. The Norse will play Wisconsin-La Cross, Northwestern (Minnesota), Buena Vista, Nebraska Wesleyan, and Morningside this week for a full slate of action. The Netherlands native is collecting his first career Men’s Tennis Player of the Week honor.
