High School Benton-Scales Mound Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Performer of the Week Holden Murphy, Loras College Sr., Benton, Wis./Benton-Scales Mound Murphy competed at the Jo Meaker Classic & Multi in Canyon, Texas over the weekend. There was no team score kept for the Duhawks. The senior competed in the shot put, discus, and hammer throw. In the shot put, Murphy placed second out of 14 competitors with a mark of 15.64m. Finishing runner-up in the discus throw out of 17 competitors, Murphy threw a mark of 48.94m. In his final event in the hammer throw, he finished second again out of 18 competitors with a mark of 57.44m. He ranks 12th in hammer throw, 15th in discus, and 30th in shot put in Division III this outdoor season so far. This is the third time in Murphy’s career he is earning Men’s Outdoor Field Performer of the Week accolade (4/11/22, 4/17/23, 4/8/24). Additionally, the senior has been named Men’s Indoor Field Performer of the Week four times in his career (1/24/22, 1/23/23, 2/20/23, 2/26/24).
