High School Riverdale Softball – Pitcher Player of the Week Ashlyn Hemm, Loras College Jr., P, Port Byron, Ill./Riverdale Hemm led the way for the Duhawks when she was on the mound as Loras posted a 9-1 overall record in Florida. Loras picked up wins over Wheaton – Mass. (3-2), Messiah (4-1), Pittsburgh at Greensburg (9-0), Rochester (4-0), Nichols (7-4), Ripon (5-3), Skidmore (5-1), Lake Forest (2-0) and Southern Maine (2-0). Their lone loss came against Montclair State (3-2). The junior pitcher was in the circle for 25.0 innings recording 26 strikeouts while only walking four. Additionally, she only allowed one earned run during her time in the circle. She pitched a no-hitter against Rochester. Hemm threw three complete games winning all three of those appearances. Loras is now 12-4 overall. The Duhawks will be back on the dirt this weekend as they are scheduled to travel to the North Park University Invite. Hemm was a First-Team All-Conference performer last season. The Port Byron, Illinois native is garnering her seventh Pitcher of the Week honor of her career (2/28/22, 3/15/22, 3/21/22, 4/4/22, 4/25/22, 5/1/23, 3/18/24).
