High School Glenbard North Wrestling - Wrestler of the Week Alonzo Smiley, University of Dubuque Jr., 165lbs./Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard North Smiley and the No. 19-ranked Spartans completed their regular season on Saturday with a 40-3 victory over Simpson College. Smiley is ranked No. 12 nationally heading into regionals this upcoming weekend. The junior defeated Isaiah Burney of Simpson by tech fall (17-0) in 1:35. Smiley and the Spartans are gearing up to travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for the 2024 NCAA Lower Midwest Wrestling Regional hosted by the American Rivers Conference this Thursday and Friday. The Carol Stream, Illinois native is collecting his first Wrestler of the Week honor.
