Kennedi Claycomb Award Pitcher of the Week Week Of 2/26/2024 Sport Softball School Buena Vista University Year Senior Position Hometown Eagle, Neb. High School Waverly Softball – Pitcher Player of the Week Kennedi Claycomb, Buena Vista University Sr., P, Eagle, Neb./Waverly Claycomb went 2-0 this past weekend with a pair of complete game victories. Overall, on the week, the Beavers went 2-2. Claycomb’s first trip to the mound resulted in a 5-1 Buena Vista win over College of St. Scholastica. In her seven innings of work, she allowed eight hits and one run score. Additionally, she struck out eight batters, only giving up a .296 batting average. In the Beavers 4-3 win over Gustavus Adolphus on Sunday, Claycomb pitched all eight innings. Allowing only a .185 batting average, the senior struck out four batters while giving up five hits. Claycomb is now 3-1 on the season with a 1.91 ERA over 25.2 innings pitched with 17 strikeouts already. Buena Vista has been out and running for a few weekends now with their record sitting at 4-6 overall. They will be back on the field next Monday, March 4 as they play in sunny Florida. Claycomb is picking up her first career Pitcher of the Week recognition.
