High School Verona Area Men’s Indoor Track & Field – Field Performer of the Week Jatavion Hawkins, University of Dubuque Grad., Fitchburg, Wis./Verona Area Competing at home, Hawkins and the Spartans posted a first place team finish with 223 team points at the Solomon Butler Classic. The graduate student won the high jump with a personal best mark of 2.06 meters, only 2 centimeters off the Dubuque school record. This mark currently ranks tied for fourth best in Division III this season. Finishing first out of 17 competitors in the long jump, Hawkins posted a mark of 6.82 meters. The Spartans and Hawkins will be back in action on Friday-Saturday when they host the American Rivers Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. This is the second time the Fitchburg, Wisconsin native is earning Indoor Field Performer of the Week accolades (2/21/22, 2/19/24).
