Joshua Van Gorp Award Player of the Week Week Of 2/19/2024 Sport Men's Basketball School Central College Year Senior Position Hometown Pella, Iowa High School Pella Christian Men’s Basketball – Player of the Week Josh Van Gorp, Central College Sr., C, Pella, Iowa/Pella Christian Van Gorp and the Dutch finished off the regular season with a 1-1 week in conference action. Central began the week falling to A-R-C Co-Champion Nebraska Wesleyan, 84-69. Going 12-for-17 from the field, Van Gorp totaled 30 points in the loss. This was the 11th time this season he scored 25 or more points in a game. Additionally, he grabbed six rebounds and one steal. To end the regular season on a high note moving into the conference tournament, the senior put up 14 points and 12 rebounds for his 11th double-double of the season. Van Gorp also added five assists and one block in the win. The Dutch are back on the court on Tuesday night when they travel to Dubuque for the first round of the A-R-C Tournament. Central finished the season with a 17-8 overall record and 11-5 A-R-C mark. Van Gorp was the 2022-23 Most Valuable Player in the A-R-C. The Pella, Iowa native’s sixth Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor, including his third this season (12/5/22, 12/19/22, 1/9/23, 1/29/24, 2/5/24, 2/19/24).
