Ulysses Patterson Award Field Performer of the Week (Men) Week Of 1/29/2024 Sport Indoor Track & Field School Simpson College Year Senior Position Hometown Clinton, Iowa High School Clinton Men’s Indoor Track & Field – Field Performer of the Week Ulysses Patterson, Simpson College Sr., Clinton, Iowa/Clinton Patterson competed at the Dutch Winter Multi on Friday, January 26. Setting a new Simpson College school record in the heptathlon, the senior finished first out of ten competitors. Patterson set career-bests in the 60-meters (7.28) and the shot put (11.89m). Additionally, he won the long jump with a mark of 6.69m and was .01m off his career best in the high jump with a height of 1.84m. The senior collected 4,835 points overall. The Storm are back in action this Friday and Saturday when they travel to Waverly, Iowa to compete in the Wartburg Indoor Select. This is the first time the Clinton, Iowa native is earning Indoor Field Performer of the Week accolades.
