Spencer Moon Award Male Athlete of the Week Week Of 1/22/2024 Sport American Rivers Conference School Simpson College Year Senior Position Hometown Lake City, Iowa High School South Central Calhoun Male Athlete of the Week – Men’s Indoor Track & Field – Track Performer of the Week Spencer Moon, Simpson College Sr., Lake City, Iowa/South Central Calhoun Moon competed at the Iowa State Cyclone Open in Ames, Iowa this past weekend. The senior competed in the 3,000-meter race and placed fourth out of 48 participants with a time of 8:04.91. Moon lowered his own school record by more than 10 seconds. On top of re-setting his own school record, Moon set a new Conference All-Time record by almost nine seconds. This time is currently the fastest in Division III and sits sixth all-time in Division III history. This mark’s the Lake City native’s first Indoor Track Performer of the Week honors. Additionally, Moon has been named Outdoor Track Performer of the Week twice in his career (5/15/23, 4/24/23) and Cross Country Runner of the Week three times (9/11/23, 9/5/23, 9/6/23)
