Allison Van Gorp Award Female Athlete of the Week Week Of 1/2/2024 Sport American Rivers Conference School Central College Year Junior Position Hometown Pella, Iowa High School Pella Christian Female Athlete of the Week – Women’s Basketball – Player of the Week Allison Van Gorp, Central College Jr., C, Pella, Iowa/Pella Christian Van Gorp posted three consecutive double-doubles to lead the Dutch to a 2-1 over the two week stretch. Central defeated Roanoke (69-56) and Gallaudet (83-50) before falling to No. 13-ranked Millikin (79-70). Beginning the week shooting 80% from the field, she recorded ten points while additionally grabbing 13 boards to get her first double-double. Additionally in the Roanoke win, she added three assists and one block. When she got on the court against Gallaudet, she posted 12 points going 6-for-9 from the field. Van Gorp was able to grab ten rebounds and one assist in the win over Gallaudet. In the final game of the stretch, the Dutch had a tough battle against No. 13-ranked Millikin and Van Gorp came up big with 13 points, shooting a perfect 5-for-5. In the loss, she was able to grab 11 rebounds and tally one assist and one steal. Central improved their record to 7-6 and sits 1-3 in A-R-C action. The Dutch and Van Gorp will be back on the court Saturday when they begin a long stretch of conference action by traveling to Loras. Van Gorp was named second-team All-Conference during the 2022-23 campaign. The Pella, Iowa native is earning her second-career Player of the Week accolade. (1/23/23, 1/2/24).
