High School Illini West Female Athlete of the Week – Women’s Basketball – Player of the Week Caydee Kirkham, Coe College So., G, Carthage, Ill./Illini West Kirkham was a visible threat in two non-conference victories for the Kohawks over the week. Coe took down Cornell College (63-41) and Bethany Lutheran (89-66). She began the week against Cornell with 14 points, going 5-for-8 (63%) from the field while additionally recording ten rebounds, two steals, and two assists. Against Bethany Lutheran, she shot 47% (9-for-19), 2-for-5 from beyond the arc, and 5-for-6 from the line to record 25 points. Additionally, she grabbed ten rebounds, tallied seven assists, and two steals. The sophomore guard has now recorded three consecutive double doubles. The Kohawks will now head to sunny Santa Cruz, California for the UC Santa Cruz Tournament where they are slated to face Pacific University and Lewis & Clark College on Wednesday and Thursday. Coe improved their record to 8-2 overall and sit 2-2 in league action. Kirkham was a 2022-23 First-Team All-Conference honoree. This is the third time Kirkham has earned Player of the Week accolades in her career (1/9/23, 11/13/23, 12/18/23).
