Joe Pins Award Wrestler of the Week Week Of 12/18/2023 Sport Men's Wrestling School Wartburg College Year Senior Position Hometown Dubuque, Iowa High School Hempstead Wrestling - Wrestler of the Week Joe Pins, Wartburg College Sr., 133lbs., Dubuque, Iowa/Hempstead Pins and the No. 2-ranked Knights competed at the annual Desert Duals on Sunday, going 3-0. Wartburg defeated Albion (40-6), St. Vincent (56-0), and No. 25-ranked Chicago (38-7). Pins won by fall over Albion’s Jeremy Sarter in one minute and four seconds. In his second match of the day, the senior defeated Ryan Yocum of St. Vincent by tech fall (16-0). By tech fall (19-0) over Jacob Lachs of Chicago, Pins finished a perfect 3-0 on Sunday. Pins currently is 10-0 on the season, all in bonus point victories. He has recorded three falls and seven tech falls so far. The Knights improved to 6-0 overall and are 3-0 in league duals. Wartburg and Pins will next be on the mat in the new year when they compete at the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Pins is a three-time All-Conference honoree. The Dubuque native is picking up his second Wrestler of the Week honor in his career (1/30/23, 12/18/23).
