Beginning conference play, the Storm picked up their first win over Central (63-56). In non-conference action, Simpson defeated Wisconsin-La Crosse (67-56) and fell to Wisconsin-River Falls (61-51). Against the Dutch, Rasmussen was 5-for-8 (63%) from beyond the arc and shot 44% from the field to record 21 points. Additionally, she recorded four rebounds, three steals, and two assists versus Central. Adding up 28 points over UW-La Crosse, the junior shot a blazing 70% from beyond the arc (7-for-10) while also shooting 56% from the field. In the lone loss of the week for Simpson, Rasmussen recorded 11 points, two rebounds, and one assist. She recorded back-to-back 20-point performances for the first time in her career. Simpson’s record sits at 3-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The Storm will be back on the hardwood Wednesday night when they host Coe and then again on Saturday when they host Dubuque in two conference contests this week. Rasmussen is a 2022-23 second-team All-Conference performer. This marks the Atlantic, Iowa native’s first-career Player of the Week honor.
