High School Morris Football – Defensive Player of the Week Brandon Phelps, Loras College Jr., LB, Morris, Ill./Morris Phelps helped lead the Loras Duhakws defense to a dominating win over Buena Vista University on Saturday (49-21). The junior linebacker led the team with six solo stops and tied his career-highs with five tackles for loss and three sacks. Phelps forced a fumble that he recovered and took 45 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Loras Duhawks improved to 4-4 overall and 3-3 in league play. They will take the field at home on Saturday as they host the Simpson College Storm. The Morris, Illinois native is picking up his first Defensive Player of the Week honor.
