High School Omaha Skutt Catholic Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player of the Week Zachary Weis, Nebraska Wesleyan University Jr., GK, Omaha, Neb./Omaha Skutt Catholic Weis helped the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves to a 2-1 victory over Loras College on Saturday. The junior recorded four saves to help the Prairie Wolves secure a second half comeback. As goalkeeper, Weis delivered the game-winning assist to Jaden Hayes with just under 10 minutes remaining in the game. Nebraska Wesleyan earned their second win over Loras since joining the American Rivers Conference in 2016. Loras is currently ranked No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches Region IX Poll. NWU improved to 7-1-2 overall and 1-1 in league play. The Prairie Wolves will host Wartburg College for a conference match on Wednesday afternoon in Lincoln, Nebraska. Weis is a 2022 All-Conference performer after earning Honorable Mention accolades in 2021. This is the Omaha, Nebraska native’s second-career Defensive Player of the Week honor (10/2/23, 10/17/22).
