High School Elk River Volleyball – Defensive Player of the Week Molly Bense, Buena Vista University Sr., Libero, Elk River, Minn./Elk River Senior, Molly Bense, guided the Beavers to a 3-1 week, including travelling to the Wisconsin-Eau Claire tournament. Buena Vista picked up wins over Martin Luther (3-0), Illinois Wesleyan (3-1), and Wisconsin-Superior (3-1), while falling to Concordia-Morehead (3-1) She recorded 40 digs during the tournament, including a season-best 19 digs during the four-set win over Wisconsin-Superior. Additionally, she recorded 12 assists and five service aces. Buena Vista will be on the court one time this week when they host Saint Mary’s (Minn.). The Beavers improved their record to 6-6 on the season. The Elk River, Minnesota native is picking up her first career Player of the Week honor, and the first since 2019 for the Beavers.
