Brandt becomes the third player to receive Defensive MVP honors for the Duhawks, joining Jorge Simon (2015) and Mike Pizzello (2014). Additionally, since 2013 Loras has seen two players earn Offensive MVP honors. Prior to the MVP award being split to recognize an offensive and defensive standout in 2013, Loras had six players named conference MVP. Playing 533 minutes throughout eight conference matches, the Ankeny native led the Duhawk defense to five shutouts and only allowed nine goals on the season. In addition, Brandt recorded two assists. The senior midfielder received All-Conference honors for the third time in his career.
