Becca Simpson Award Female Athlete of the Week Week Of 5/15/2023 Sport American Rivers Conference School Buena Vista University Year Graduate Student Position Hometown Plattsmouth, Neb High School Conestoga Co-Female Athlete of the Week – Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Performer of the Week Becca Simpson, Buena Vista University Gr., Plattsmouth, Neb./Conestoga Simpson and the Buena Vista Beavers competed at the A-R-C Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend, where she claimed all-conference honors in three events and was named Most Valuable Field Performer. The graduate student set a new championship record while also breaking the stadium record in the hammer throw with a mark of 55.06 meters to claim the gold medal. Simpson finished runner-up in both the shot put and the javelin throw with marks of 13.66 meters and 45.37 meter. The Plattsmouth, Nebraska native is collecting her fourth-career Women’s Outdoor Field Performer of the Week and third consecutive (5/15/23, 5/8/23, 5/1/23, 4/12/21).
