Spencer Moon Award Male Athlete of the Week Week Of 5/15/2023 Sport American Rivers Conference School Simpson College Year Junior Position Hometown Lake City, Iowa High School South Central Calhoun Co-Male Athletes of the Week – Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Co-Track Performer of the Week Spencer Moon, Simpson College Jr., Lake City, Iowa/South Central Calhoun Moon and the Simpson College Storm competed at the A-R-C Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend, where he claimed all-conference honors in both events he competed in, resulting in Co-Most Valuable Track Performer. The junior climbed to the top of the podium after crossing the line first in the 5,000-meter run in a new championship and stadium record of 14:23.63. Moon claimed another gold medal in the 10,000-meter run after pulling ahead to cross the finish line in 30:49.91. The Lake City native picked up his second-career Outdoor Track Performer of the Week honors (5/15/23, 4/24/23). Additionally, Moon has earned Indoor Track Performer of the Week once (2/27/23) and Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week once (9/6/21).
