High School Seneca Co-Male Athletes of the Week – Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Co-Track Performer of the Week Christopher Collet, Wartburg College Sr., Verona, Ill./Seneca Collet and the No. 10-ranked Wartburg College Knights competed at the A-R-C Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend, where he claimed all-conference honors in all three events he competed in, resulting in him earning Co-Most Valuable Track Performer. The Knights’ senior set a new championship and stadium record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase after crossing the finish line in 8:59.24 to claim his first gold medal of the weekend. Collet set another stadium record in the 1,500-meter run, finishing first with a time of 3:48.87. Rounding out Collet’s all-conference honors is a third-place finish in the 5,000-meter run in 15:00.60. The Verona, Illinois native is garnering his second-career Outdoor Track Performer of the Week honors (5/15/23, 4/17/23). Additionally, Collet has earned two Indoor Track Performer of the Week accolades (1/24/22, 3/8/21) and four Cross Country Runner of the Week honors (10/17/22, 10/3/22, 9/19/22, 9/6/22).
