High School Riverdale Softball – Pitcher of the Week Ashlyn Hemm, Loras College So., RHP, Port Byron, Ill./Riverdale Hemm led the Duhawks on the mound this week going 2-0 in her appearances over Wartburg and Nebraska Wesleyan. Additionally, she came in on relief in game two versus Nebraska Wesleyan. The sophomore pitched a complete game (4-0) on Tuesday where she posted an impressive nine strikeouts, three hits allowed, and one walk on 26 batters faced. Picking up her second win of the week occurred over Nebraska Wesleyan (3-2) allowing three hits and two runs to score and striking out eight batters. When she came in her relief against Nebraska Wesleyan, for 2.1 innings, she allowed three hits and one run to score, but added to her strikeout total with four. Hemm recorded five walks compared to 21 strikeouts in her 16.1 innings of action. Loras stands at 18-13 overall and 6-6 in league play looking to make a final push for the conference tournament with doubleheaders with Dubuque and No. 20-ranked Central this week. The Port Byron, Illinois native is garnering her sixth Pitcher of the Week honor of her career (2/28/22, 3/15/22, 3/21/22, 4/4/22, 4/25/22, 5/1/23).
